Founded in 1996 as a free magazine named 0fr (“zero franc,” referencing the former French currency), it opened its bookstore in 1998 under the motto “0fr – open free and ready,” symbolizing its spirit of being open 365 days a year, seven days a week.Run by siblings Alexandre and Marie Thumerelle, 0fr has become a cultural landmark in the heart of Paris’s trendsetting Marais, where visitors from around the world come seeking art books, creativity, and a sense of Parisian intelligence.In November 2024, “0fr. Tokyo Nakameguro” made its grand debut at our store. We feature publications from 0fr. Paris, rare art books, goods, and collaboration items, offering an ongoing 0fr. Paris permanent space that can only be experienced within BOUTIQUE ROMANTIQUE.In addition to operating the 0fr. Paris official permanent shop in Tokyo (0fr. Tokyo), BOUTIQUE ROMANTIQUE also serves as the official agent overseeing SALES / PRESS activities in Japan, including planning, collaborations, and events.
