Kyoichi Tsuzuki documents Japan’s “hihokan,” adult amusement museums that sprang up in tourist destinations from the 1970s onward. Spanning over 400 pages, this collection explores the uninhibited imagination behind their eccentric displays and theatrical settings, with additional photographs and writing from 2023. A fascinating look at a largely vanished chapter of Japanese tourism and the singular creativity it inspired.
