"STIJL: 40 Years of Fashion" is an archive book published to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the opening of STIJL (@stijlbrussels), a designer select shop in Brussels, Belgium. It traces STIJL's journey and its cultural background, which has played an important role at the heart of Belgian fashion history, documenting the fashion culture of an era that the city and designers have built together over 40 years.
STIJL, which emerged in the 1980s with the rise of the "Antwerp Six," showcased the early works of designers who would later become world-renowned, such as Martin Margiela, Dries Van Noten, Ann Demeulemeester, and Rick Owens. It played a major role in transforming Brussels' Dansaert district into one of Europe's fashion centers.
This book is a publication planned in conjunction with the exhibition "40+ Years of STIJL" held at the Brussels Fashion & Lace Museum starting in April 2025. Through interviews with customers and collaborators and essays by Belgian fashion journalists, it sheds light from multiple angles on the cultural role played by an independent select shop.

Returns
As a general rule, we do not accept product returns. In the unlikely event that you receive a defective product or an incorrect item, please contact us first via Instagram DM or email. The return period for defective products is within 7 days of product arrival. In the case of exchanges for defective products or incorrect items, we will bear the shipping costs. In the case of returns due to customer convenience, the customer will bear the shipping costs.
