For the filming of the movie, Coppola invited British fashion photographer Corinne Day to the set. Corinne Day was known for capturing iconic models of the 1990s in unadorned, raw, and disheveled poses. In their expression of female beauty, Coppola and Corinne Day found a formidable counterpart in each other. Corinne Day's photographs resonated perfectly with Coppola's debut work, which depicted an uninfluenced, unvarnished image of women that evoked empathy from other women.
